If there’s one thing that’s consistent on all social media, it’s that they regularly change! In this week’s tools, tips and resources article, we check out recent changes on Facebook and what they mean for you and your business!
What’s changed?
Facebook Page Layout
First up, you may have noticed an invite to go on a ‘waitlist’ to update to the new page layout (or, if you’ve clicked on that already you might have updated!). This is what you are looking for in your page manager if you haven’t updated already:
So, what does the new layout give you? Here’s a brief summary…
Your important business details (including a clickable link to your website) all sit on the left of the page. (You will notice the layout is now a lot more like a personal profile page).
Your insights and page activity are now found at the buttons on the top left.
You still get your apps – these are now either on the left hand side bar (with icons the same dimensions as before) or on the drop-down under ‘more’.
Your posts now all sit on the right, and you have a quick insights box for what’s happened in the last week with your page (this scrolls with you).
Pages to Watch
This was tested on some pages last year but has now been rolled out to all users. Pages to watch sits under the “Overview” tab of your page insights and allows you to ‘watch’ key pages and track key stats such as their most popular posts, number of posts that week and number of likes. Obviously, you may like to keep an eye on your competitors and if you notice a spike in their stats, check what it is they are doing!
