Title: Social Media Marketing Case Study – How I Earned $10,690 in a Week from Facebook Traffic Alone
Author: Laura Roeder
Twitter handle: @lkr
Summary: Laura Roeder discusses the need to not rely so heavily on the vanity metrics of facebook and start looking at the real world metrics that make dollars and sense to a business.
If you take your social media marketing seriously, and invest your time in a sustainable strategy, you can get a lot more than a few Facebook likes – you can earn serious bank for your business.
She had a 10k week and shares what she discovered during that time.
1.Dont get discouraged by data that doesn’t matter.
Vanity metrics are the ones like facebook likes and shares. They play an important part of your overall social strategy, but they generally do not bring in the cash for your business. They are hard to measure the ROI.
2.Sharing is caring
Keep in mind when creating posts, that you want your posts to be shared, not by your own followers, but also the followers of your followers.
3. Remember the big Picture
Laura goes on to say that not every week will be a big payday, and to keep in mind that its a marathon not a sprint. Keep looking at what you are doing and test and measure
How were the results achieved?
Consistency is the big idea here. Make sure you have a marketing and social media calendar and stick to it.

Title: How to Drive More Website Traffic with Facebook Ads
Author: John Loomer
Twitter handle:@jonloomer
Summary: According to Shareaholic, facebook drives more social referral traffic to websites by any other social platform. Jon Loomer shows us his method for using facebook ads to drive traffic to his website, and interestingly, its not to a sales page.
He does mention that google organic traffic is the biggest driver of traffic for him, then its facebook, but facebook is by far the biggest social driver by nearly 10 times.
His blog post publishing routine is usually to post one blog post once a week at about 2:15 am and the a few hours later, he will use facebook ads to drive traffic to that post.
He always targets his fans first and he keeps the ads running until the next blog post is published. He aims for 10- 15 cent clicks on his ads.
He will also target all website visitors that have visited ho website in the last 30 days using his Website Custom audiences targeting group.
He also looks closely at his Audience Insights to further narrow down his target market.
One thing he also does is that he sets his ads to specifically exclude anybody that has read the post already…no point spending money on ads that people have already read.

The whole point of Pinterest is for users to search and make lists (boards) of the things they want.
For anyone wanting to sell a product online, there is no better platform than Pinterest… it is a large group of people telling you exactly what they want.
The Pinterest Ad Platform is a combination of Query Based Visibility ( just like google adwords) and Contextual Visibility (just like facebook ads).
All ads on Pinterst are Native..they blend in with other pins.
Ezra started using the ads platform in a traditional direct response advertising sort of way. This netted him $21 969 from a spend of $775…and the cool thing is that they are spending 3 times as much on his site as that of visitors from facebook ads!
The way he is doing this is to send people from a promoted pin directly to an article and then to a sales page on his ecommerce store…. and not yet using retargeting.
To get started using ads, you need to have a Pinterest as a Business page set up.
Fill out your profile fully and completely

Title: Paid Traffic in 2015 – Facebook, Pinterest, Google & More
Author: Andrew Youderian and Ezra Firestone
Twitter handle:@youderian and @ezrafirestone
Summary: Although this is a podcast, these 2 guys share some very valuable insights into paid ads.
Facebook Ads – facebook is still a very good way for advertisers to buy traffic….and it can be scaled like no other platform . Pinterest may be able to give more higher quality traffic, but it can’t give as much as facebook can. Facebook will also be rolling out a 1 click purchase button just like Amazon does soon too. Facebook lets you do some real super targeted ads and there are a few examples given here. Ezra is still directing traffic to a pre sell page, a piece of content that is relevant to what they are selling. They also dig into how to Niche down your audience to get real targeted results.
Pinterest Ads – Pinterest Ads have arrived and are producing very high quality traffic, just not enough of it. The guys talk about demographics of pinsetters and what the best markets are the best on pinterest (for a deeper look, check out this post —> link to post about pinterest in this article)
Instagram – This platform is still in beta with the rollout to the public due soon. Currently Images Ads, Video Ads and Carousel Ads are available. The discuss the back door approach to getting your content discovered on Instagram, by paying people with large audiences.Sounds like a lot of hard work and it is ..for now, until the platform allows everybody to buy ads
Twitter – Twitter ads are working well for Information products and also for retargeting too. These can be a little expensive though. All the ecommerce campaigns that Ezra has seen have not been profitable.
There was also a little discussion about retargeting and google adwords with some great tips added in here too.

Title: How To Get 1,691 Visits From Reddit In 27 Days (Without Spending A Penny)
Link: View the Original Post Here
Author: Ryan Stewart
Twitter handle: @ryanwashere
Summary:
After working the content angle really hard, Ryan started noticing a decline in his traffic. So he thought he would test out the benefits of Reddit. He had heard a lot about it , but knew that he had to use it correctly to see any results, so here is what he did.
He enlisted the help of a pro that he found on Elance.. here is his job posting.
He got a reply form a 17 year old kid who had a great track record….he followed this kids’ advice and received 1691 visits from reddit in 27 days.
There were 2 main lessons that he got from this exercise:
1.Establishing an account with authority
2.Following Reddit best practices
Sounds flaky, but he digs into it deeper
Accounts with Authority have Karma, and the higher the Karma, the more trust you get from reddit users. The best way to get karma is to find large, active Subreddits and replicate posts that are working.
There are lots of best practices in Reddit, but here are the 4 main ones…
Posting useful content
Finding the right Subreddit
Writing perfect titles
Posting at the right time
Ryan goes into each of these 4 topics a lot deeper and shares many screenshots and tips about what is needed and what to avoid.
Overall, Reddit is a lot of work in the beginning. It takes time to build an account, research Subreddits and get used to writing quality copy.
